Nadal says Federer is still the best By Ru-an Zietsmann The rivalry between Roger Fderer and Rafael Nadal is the stuff of legend. This year they treated the tennis world to the most spectacular match maybe in the history of the sport when they met for a thrid time in the Wimbledon final. Nadal won that match and shortly afterwards would take away the number one spot in the rankings form Federer. Nadal currently leads Federer 12-6 in career meetings. This statistic is deceiving however since ten of those meetings was on clay, Nadal's favorite surface. My point is well demonstrated by the fact that Federer leads Nadal in career meetings on the other two surfaces of tennis, hard court and grass. In 2008 though there is no doubt that Nadal had the better of Federer. Having said that Nadal has always made it clear how much he respects Federer and they are also good friends. So it comes as no surprise when Nadal recently admitted that even though he got the better of Federer this year he still thinks Federer is a better player.
